Glad to have you back with me in the Quiet Time Corner today! 📖🌻☕
This morning we are reading David’s plea for mercy in Psalm 6. Our Proverbs chapter is 9, of course. 🙂 We are writing Prov. 20:29 regarding the beauty of old men (yes, you read that right!) and we are beginning a new scripture memory passage (I changed it after some consideration)–Proverbs 2:1-7.
Grace for Today provides 3 characteristics of a heaven-ordained pastor–he is a faithful, yet fallible, ambassador and servant. Our pastors need our prayers!
Chambers in “My Utmost for His Highest” writes about “Reaching Beyond Our Grasp”–“Are we expecting God to do greater things than He has ever done before? Is there a freshness and a vitality in our spiritual outlook?”
Philippians 2:12 is our prayer scripture this week, and we look at what it means to “work out” our salvation with fear and trembling. And we close with a text, “Jesus Saith, I Thirst” from one of my oldest volumes, a Scottish hymnal dating from 1898, entitled simply, The Church Hymnary–how Christ thirsted for the souls of men–“Dear Lord! And one was mine.”
Thanks for stopping by!
