Happy Happy “Hump Day”! 🐪📖☕🐪
Today we are finishing our reading in Psalm 7 as we make our way through the entirety of the Psalms in a year’s time. Today’s Proverbs reading is chapter 11, of course. We are writing Ecc. 3:11 today, considering how God makes things beautiful in His time, and we practice Proverbs 2:1 together.
Grace for Today helps us look closer at “Peter’s fall and restoration”–God allows His people to be portrayed honestly in the scriptures, and looking at Peter’s life gives us great hope! “As our Lord prayed for Peter, he prays for us, and God will not charge any with Sin for whom Christ undertakes to be an Advocate (1 John 2:1-2; Romans 4:8). None of us has reason to boast of our faithfulness. Who would dare? But we all have reason to boast of the faithfulness of God our Savior, who will not let us perish!”
In “My Utmost for His Highest”, we are reminded to “Love One Another” and just what that means when we endeavor to love as God loves–“Am I prepared to be identified so closely with the Lord Jesus that His life and His sweetness will be continually poured out through Me? Neither natural love nor God’s divine love will remain and grow in me unless it is nurtured.”
We finish by praying Phil. 2:12 for our extended families, and looking at a beautiful hymn text about how “Christ hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us”. For us. For us. For us. It was all–every bit of Jesus’ incarnation, life, death, burial and resurrection–for US.
Choose joy today, friends, and I’ll see you tomorrow, Lord willing!
