We are reading in Psalm 8 today–find a worshipful place, free from light pollution this weekend, which will allow you to see the heavens in their glorious, wide expanse! Our chapter for Proverbs today is Chapter 12, of course. Our scripture writing passage has to do with the beauty of the Rose of Sharon–Song of Solomon 2:1-2. And we practice the beginning of our new memory passage again today…Proverbs 2:1.
Grace for Today asks the question, “Do we seek the approval of men or the approval of God?” Do we want to impress other people for a fleeting moment of approval, or do we seek something deeper…God’s “well done”?
In My Utmost for His Highest, we look at The Habit of Having No Habits–“Your god may be your little Christian habit— the habit of prayer or Bible reading at certain times of your day. Watch how your Father will upset your schedule if you begin to worship your habit instead of what the habit symbolizes.”
We close with Philippians 2:12 as our prayer scripture for our church family today, and the hymn text, “Jesus, Rose of Sharon” by Ida Guirey in 1922.
