Starting a brand new week–“fresh, with no mistakes in it” as my friend Anne would say. 📖🌻☕
Today we read the second half of Psalm 9 together, as David calls upon God’s faithfulness in the past to fuel his hope in God’ deliverance for today. We are writing Isaiah 61:10-11 considering the “True Beauty” that is found in our garment of salvation, and we talk about how meaningful it is to cite the wedding garments in verse 11. We are memorizing Proverbs 2:1,2 this week, and we discuss what it looks like to “incline” toward wisdom and “apply” it.
Grace for Today speaks of the “everlasting covenant”–God keeps His promises, fully and always! “All who were given to Christ were redeemed by Christ, will come to Christ and will be raised again at the last day! God promised it. He swore by his holy name that he would do it! And it will be done!”
In My Utmost for His Highest, we learn about “The Habit of Recognizing God’s Provision”–“And yet all of Almighty God is ours in the Lord Jesus! And He will reach to the last grain of sand and the remotest star to bless us if we will only obey Him.”
Our prayer scripture for this week is Matthew 7:21, and we unpack what it is to speak spiritual words as compared to living a life of wisdom that is actually applied.
Our hymn texts this week are taken from “Hymns of Truth and Praise” and today’s hymn is “When This Passing World is Done” by Robert Murray McCheyne.
Thanks for coming to spend some time with me this morning!
