Good morning…let’s grow in grace together, shall we? ππ»β
Today’s Proverbs reading is chapter 7, and we are reading together on the podcast from Psalm 21, a companion Psalm to yesterday’s. We have Ps. 26:8-12 for our scripture writing passage, as David requests that he not be “swept out” with those who practice wickedness. And we practice our memory passage, Proverb 2:1-5 this week.
Simpson, in Days of Heaven on Earth, reminds us how God made provision for the children of Israel on their way out of Egypt, and how we should have a heart full of faith that God will also meet our needs–“Our Saviour, at Cana, ordered the water-pots to be filled to the brim. Then the water was made into wine, but not until the vessels were full. God wants His children to have always a full heart.”
In My Utmost for His Highest, Chambers discusses “Our Greatest Source of Power”–“Am I allowing my spiritual life to waste away, or am I focused, bringing everything to one central pointβ the atonement of my Lord? …then every aspect of my life will bear fruit for Him.”
We look at how we find “knowledge” as the “bookends” for the book of 2 Peter, as we consider our prayer scripture in 3:18, and then we find this idea of divine knowledge present in our verse from Hymn 16 in “Hymns and Meditations” by Anna L. Waring:
For the heart’s knowledge of Thy sacred ways,
Even in its deepest, darkest shades, is light.
See you tomorrow! π
