Good morning, friends! 📖🌻☕
We begin by reading in Acts 6 this morning, where we are introduced to Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Those who criticized were “not able to resist the wisdom” he shared. Fearful people forsook him.
Our “Serving Others” scripture writing passage is 2 Cor. 9:7-9–“all…always…all…always…abound”. Love that. We practice Phil. 2:3-8 one last time. On Monday we’ll add verse 9. Then three more weeks after that for verses 10-12 and we’ll move on to another passage. 🙂
“Walk Without Strain” is the admonition from Streams in the Desert today. Rest in God to complete the work. “Not overwork, but overflow”–this speaks to me! The poem following is absolutely amazing. Love it so much! “Be all at rest”!
Tozer shares about “Tests of Love”. Fill in the blank: “If you love me, keep ______________.” Spurgeon, in Faith’s Checkbook writes “Out of Spiritual Death”–life and liberty is found only in Christ! He came that we might have life “more abundantly”!
We finish this week with our prayer scripture, Ruth 1:16,17–we see the devotion and loyalty of Ruth to her mother-in-law, Naomi. New country, new culture, new faith–she embraced it all in a place of extreme vulnerability in her life as a widow. Following the same idea of following God, our hymn text today is written by W. O. Cushing in 1878, entitled “I Will Follow On”.
I’ll see you on Monday!
