Good morning! Grab your cuppa! 📖🌻☕
Today we read from Acts 9, witnessing the conversion of Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus. We see that some in the early church were cautious about inviting him into their fellowship, understandably. His conversion was so remarkable, that he was automatically made a target. The religious rulers sought to snuff out his testimony almost immediately.
Our scripture writing passage is Eph. 4:25-28–beyond what we do, who we are serves others. We continue working on Philippians 2, committing it to memory. Do not ever minimize this…Jesus used scripture to combat Satan…specific scriptures for each temptation in Matthew 4. Take a look. And there may come a day when our Bibles are taken away. Where will we be then? Hide it in your heart, and equip the toolbox of your heart for the Holy Spirit’s use.
Streams in the Desert tells us about how we are “Free Through Suffering” — “the chain which unites me to humanity must be an iron chain”. “Gentle But Determined Restorers” is the topic from Tozer this morning. Silence is disobedience. Spurgeon writes about how we are “Broken and Smoking” in Faith’s Checkbook. As the gospel song says, “Set My Soul On Fire, Lord”.
We close with Ps. 23:4 as our prayer scripture this morning and an accompanying hymn text, “The King of Love My Shepherd Is”.
