Okay, friends…coming to you hot off the press this morning, so I’m a little later. Thanks for being patient.
This morning we read in Romans 7…grammatically challenging in the KJV, so try another trustworthy translation such as the NAS, ESV, or Amplified to help you glean the full meaning as we read about Paul’s inner struggle with the old man and the new man…and rejoice in the conclusion he provides.
We continue memorizing Psalm 103 together today, and we’ll write Psalm 97:11,12 to remind us to rejoice in the Lord.
Streams in the Desert challenges us to be “Ready to Move”–we are strangers and pilgrims here and really not meant to settle in. Tozer speaks about our “Devotional Life”…which needs careful tending, and in Faith’s Checkbook we learn about “God’s Multiplication Table”…never despise small beginnings!
Finally, we conclude today with our prayer scripture, Hebrews 4:15–and in considering this idea of Jesus making intercession for us, I share the hymn text, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, providing some biographical background to help us appreciate the life experience from which this comforting, beloved hymn was penned.
