Hi Friends! It’s a week until Thanksgiving–are you ready? Are you giving thanks today? 📖🌻☕
We read about some customs and traditions in 1 Corinthians 11 this morning, ending with some consideration as to the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. We continue in memorizing Psalm 103:1-8 and we are writing Proverbs 15:13 for our Contentment passage today.
Streams in the Desert has us thinking about things that can offend us as followers of Christ, and Tozer exhorts us in taking the reading of God’s Word (particularly aloud/publicly) as a serious charge. Spurgeon brings to our remembrance several instances when God intervened in the lives of His people in clearly supernatural ways…that He might get the glory.
We finish today looking at 1 Chronicles 19:11-13 and the hymn text “This is My Father’s World” in connection with the attribute of His sovereignty over all.
“Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”
Thanks for coming to join me today!
