Good morning, friends! Time to begin a new day…let us rejoice and be glad in it! 📖🌻☕
We are beginning Paul’s first letter to the church at Thessalonica today. “Your faith to God-ward is spread abroad”…may this be said of us this year! We continue with Psalm 103:1-16 as our memorization passage, and we are writing Daniel 1:-12,13 and 15-16, providing the reason Daniel and his friends were flourishing in their health. Are there guidelines that you follow that help you to be physically well and feel energetic? Our bodies are lent to us as tools for the Lord’s service, right?
Streams in the Desert has us reading about being “Hedged In” by trials. We “often see the wrong side of the hedge”..”thorns do not prick you unless you lean against them”. Through it all will we dare to trust Him wholly?
Tozer speaks on the timely title of “Media Manipulating”…the powerful influence of advertising. So true today as well, right? Let’s be careful what norm we are conforming to.
Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook tells us about being “Loved Unto the End”: “Some talk of our being in grace and out of it, as if we were like rabbits that run in and out of their burrows; but, indeed, it is not so. The LORD’s love is a far more serious and abiding matter than this.”
Our prayer verse is Psalm 42:5–don’t remain disquieted, but hope in God. Allow all that we know about Him to educate the fears and doubts in our hearts. We close by reading “Reproofs” from The Valley of Vision. “Make me tenderly afraid of sin…” is an excellent prayer that will keep us in a place of safety and blessing.
