Good morning, friends. A long night here, but God is good and we have a new day before us! 📖🌻☕
Let’s begin by reading 1 Thessalonians 5 today…”And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” (vv 23-24) We continue with our memory passage, Psalm 103:1-17, and we are writing Acts 2:41-43 together today. Obedience and faithfulness leads to flourishing.
Streams in the Desert is about “The Fiery Furnace” today: “Let us learn that in all the hard places God brings us into, He is making opportunities for us to exercise such faith in Him as will bring about blessed results and greatly glorify His name.” Tozer compares “The Contemporary and the Eternal”: “We who follow Christ are men and women of eternity. We must put no confidence in the passing scenes of the disappearing world.”
Spurgeon writes of “Christ and His Children” in Faith’s Checkbook: “Those eyes which once wept for us are now viewing us with pleasure. Yes, He looks upon those who are looking unto Him. Our eyes meet! What a joy is this!” We consider Psalm 62:8 for our prayer time. “Pour out your heart before Him.”
We finish with “Self Noughting” from The Valley of Vision: “Grant that I may never trust my heart, depend upon any past experiences, magnify any present resolutions, but be strong in the grace of Jesus:”.
Thanks for joining me this morning, everyone!
