Hey, friends! It’s Friday! šš»āDon’t forget to vote in our poll!
We’ll finish this week reading in 1 Timothy 5, dealing with relationships (check out the Amplified version for more clarity on the meaning of this discussion–very helpful), and our scripture writing is Colossians 3:12-15–what kinds of things we should “put on” as students of the Lord Jesus. “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts”–I can’t think of a better way to “Flourish”. We conclude our practicing of Psalm 103:1-18 today, and will add verse 19 on Monday…coming into the homestretch on this passage!
Streams in the Desert tells us about “The Harp”–“So it may be that God is dealing with you. Loving you better than any harper loves his harp, He finds you a mass of jarring discords. He wrings your heartstrings with some torturing anguish; He bends over you tenderly, striking and listening; and, hearing only a harsh murmur, strikes you again, while His heart bleeds for you, anxiously waiting for that straināāNot my will, but thine be doneāāwhich is melody sweet to His ear as angelsā songs.”
Tozer writes about the “Seeker, Pretender, or In-the-Rut Disciple”–“True conversion means radical repentance, a changed life, conscious forgiveness of sin and a spiritual rebirth.” Finally, Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook reminds us that “Tears Shall Cease”–“What will our state be when there will be no more sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain? This will be more glorious than we can as yet imagine.”
We’ll close out this week considering “Pride” from the Valley of Vision and Psalm 121:1,2 as our prayer scripture from our list at the “His Mercy Is New” website. Keep looking up!
