Today we begin reading a little book to another of Paul’s “sons”, Titus. Our scripture writing passage on Faithful Love is Psalm 26:2-3–may God’s lovingkindness always guide our steps into His truth. We add verse 20 to our scripture memory passage, Psalm 103:1-20, being reminded of His faithful servants, the angels. One day our obedience will be perfect like theirs.
Streams in the Desert today is a lengthy and heartfelt passage, “Cast Down”–there are only two reasons to be so. If neither applies to our current state, then we should follow David’s admonition to “hope thou in God”. Tozer provides a couple points regarding “Self Examination” for our consideration in our passage for this Monday that will “result in a wonderfully improved Christian life”.
In Faith’s Checkbook, we are admonished to “Return From Backsliding”: “None but the Almighty can set up the fallen pillars and restore the tottering walls of your condition; but He can and He will do it if you return to Him. Do not delay.” Our prayer scripture is Psalm 94:18-19, God will lift us up if our foot slips, and we will find delight when our thoughts are full of the comforts God offers in His word. We finish today with “Man, A Nothing” from The Valley of Vision–“…take me to the cross, and leave me there.” The very best place for us to be.
