I have a little more voice today, thank the Lord. So, today’s podcast is a little longer…making up for lost time. Join me? 📖🌻☕
We finish the book of Titus today, reading chapter 3, and being reminded that, as the saying goes, “the ground is level at the foot of the cross”…we all know what it is to do battle with sin. Paul also makes it clear that our only hope of reconciliation with God has nothing to do with our own works. And we spend a little time looking at works and salvation.
Our scripture writing passage from the Ruffled Mango is Psalm 40:9-10, reminding us to be faithful in showing love to others by never keeping the message of the gospel to ourselves. We also practice Psalm 103:1-20 again today together.
Streams in the Desert is so wonderfully encouraging, as the writer shares how to “Trust Amid the Silence” and how God looks upon those in varying places in their spiritual walk as they encounter trials and hardship. Tozer asks us to make a decision about this question: “Nominal or Normal”–which are we?
Spurgeon paints a picture of “The Dross Purged” for us–“If we are wise, we shall rather welcome the refining process than decline it. Our prayer will be that our alloy may be taken from us rather than that we should be withdrawn from the crucible.”
We end today’s podcast with Psalm 143:8 as our prayer scripture, reinforcing the importance of beginning our day teaching our souls again about God’s lovingkindness and how this makes it so much easier for us to trust Him. Our portion from The Valley of Vision today is entitled “A Cry for Deliverance”–“Let thy victory be apparent to my consciousness, and displayed in my life.”
Thanks for joining me this morning.
