Good morning, friends! Let’s grab our Bibles and a cuppa! 📖🌻☕
We are reading in James 2 this morning, considering priorities, works, and faith. We continue practicing Matthew 5:3 as we begin memorizing the Beatitudes together, and our “Her Story, His Glory” scripture writing passage is Gen. 18:13-14, about Sarah and her sense of humor. 😉 Streams in the Desert has us considering the “Price of Freedom”–“We never pass into any spiritual inheritance through the delightful exercises of a picnic, but always through the grim contentions of the battle field.” Timely, considering all that is in the news lately.
Tozer writes today about “Refusing to be Conformed to the Pattern of This World’–“The human heart senses its need to be changed, and when religion appears offering life without such change, it is not taken seriously by thinking men.”
Spurgeon, in Faith’s Checkbook, reminds us that we are “Not Left to Perish”–“The star of hope is still in the sky when the night is blackest.”
We end today’s podcast with Psalm 16:10 as our prayer scripture and a reading of “Need of Jesus” from The Valley of Vision.
