TGIF: Thank the Great God of Wonders, it’s Friday! 📖🌻☕
This morning we read from 1 Peter 3, and we learn some things about true beauty and the purpose of suffering. We are writing Ruth 2:10-12 from our Her Story/His Glory list at The Ruffled Mango, and we finish memorizing Matthew 5:3-4 from the Beatitudes. We’ll add verse 5 on Monday.
Streams in the Desert speaks of “Strength from Sorrow”–“Yet there is a humanizing and fertilizing influence in sorrow which has been rightly accepted and cheerfully borne. Indeed, they are poor who have never suffered, and have none of sorrow’s marks upon them.”
Tozer gives us some advice about “Using Both Wings”–“Truth is like a bird; it cannot fly on one wing. Yet we are forever trying to take off with one wing flapping furiously and the other tucked neatly out of sight.” How are your wings today?
In Faith’s Checkbook, Spurgeon asks, “Whose Battle?”–“If it were our own battle we might not be confident; but if we are standing up for Jesus, and warring in His strength alone, who can withstand us?”
We close out this week with 1 Samuel 17:47 as our prayer scripture, and a reading entitled “Choices” from The Valley of Vision.
I’ll see you, Lord willing, on Monday!
