Good to have you with me for this week’s “up-n-over” day! 📖🌻☕
This morning’s chapter for our Bible reading is Revelation 20, and we are writing 1 John 3:7-8 from our Ruffled Mango list on Spiritual Warfare, being reminded that there will be an end to the conflict and all that has proven to fight against our souls will be cast into the Lake of Fire once and for all. We continue memorizing Matthew 5:3-11, considering these final verses as Jesus braced His followers for the persecution to come.
Streams in the Desert beckons us to consider “The Risen Lord”–“He is not only a fact, but a living fact. Glorious truth of Easter Day!”
Tozer compels us to be “Discipling as Many as Possible”–“Plainly Christ when He was on earth was concerned about the multitudes. And so should His followers be. A church that takes no interest in evangelism or missions is sub-normal in every way and desperately in need of revival.” Not numbers for mere numbers’ sake…but with an eye toward growing the Kingdom.
Spurgeon reminds us that “God Finishes His Work”–“He never leaves a work unfinished; this would not be for His glory, nor would it be like Him. He knows how to accomplish His gracious design, and though my own evil nature and the world, and the devil, all conspire to hinder Him, I do not doubt His promise.”
We close with our prayer scripture, Philippians 2:14, which exhorts us not to question God’s will…and a hymn text by Charles W. Naylor, written in 1904, only a few years before he’d be called deeper into his faith in considering his own words, “God’s Way Is Best”.
Thanks for stopping by!
