Welcome back to our little corner on this Thursday, April 28th! 📖🌻☕
This morning our reading assignment as we finish the New Testament is Revelation 21–“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” We write 1 John 2:2-4, reminding us how it is possible that we should be overcomers. And we practice Matthew 5:3-11 once again together.
Streams in the Desert tells us how God is “Preparing His Heroes”–“Let the Holy Ghost prepare you, dear friend, by the discipline of life; and when the last finishing touch has been given to the marble, it will be easy for God to put it on the pedestal, and fit it into its niche.”
Tozer writes today of “Christmas Breezes”–“A heart capable of admiring and being touched by the story of the manger birth is not yet abandoned, however sinful it may be. There is yet hope in repentance.”
Spurgeon, in Faith’s Checkbook, ponders that “It Becomes Mutual”–“God dwells in us, and we dwell in Him; He walks with us and we walk with God. Happy communion this!” We close with Philippians 2:14 as our prayer scripture regarding our church family today, and “Evening Praise” from The Valley of Vision.
See you tomorrow, as we finish out our week and our month!
