It’s Fri-YAY! ๐๐ปโ
Today we read Psalm 12, and in the midst of bemoaning the state of rebellion in the human race, we find anchoring words regarding the purity and reliability of God’s Word. Today’s Proverbs chapter is 20, in correspondence with today’s date. We have Matthew 6:28-30 as our scripture writing portion, and we consider the beauty of faith. We practice Proverbs 2:1-2, and will add verse 3 on Monday.
Grace for Today has us considering the question in Galatians about our relationship with the Law–“Once a man comes to Christ by faith, the law has no more claim upon him and no longer has dominion over him. The law was not made for a righteous man. The language of Holy Scripture in this matter could not be clearer or more emphatic. โAfter that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”
My Utmost for His Highest has to do with “Taking Possession of Our Own Soul”–“Moods nearly always are rooted in some physical circumstance, not in our true inner self. It is a continual struggle not to listen to the moods which arise as a result of our physical condition, but we must never submit to them for a second.” How do you govern your moods? ๐ค
We finish today with Matthew 7:21 once more as our prayer scripture, and the hymn text, “Speak to My Soul” by L. L. Pickett. On to a new hymnal on Monday!
Have a blessed weekend, and I’ll see you soon!
