Good morning and happy Thursday! We are reading in Psalm 17 today, learning what it is to be kept as the “apple of the eye”. We are writing Philippians 4:8 as we consider the “True Beauty” of our thoughts. We continue memorizing Proverbs 2:1-3.
Days of Heaven on Earth takes us to Philippians 4:6 as we learn about two types of care–“There are two cares in this verse—your care and His care. They are different in the original. One means anxious care, the other means Almighty care. Cast your anxious care on Him and take His Almighty care instead.”
My Utmost for His Highest exhorts us in “Thinking of Prayer As Jesus Taught”–“God answers prayer in the best way— not just sometimes, but every time. However, the evidence of the answer in the area we want it may not always immediately follow. Do we expect God to answer prayer?”
We close with John 17:3 as our prayer scripture, considering the theme of this “high priestly prayer” which was reconciliation and fellowship with the Father and the Son. And we worship with John Newton’s hymn text, “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken”.
Tomorrow is Friday–see you then, Lord willing!
