Have you noticed an intergenerational divide in the church? Do the youth of today tend learn from the older generation or are they left to fend for themselves? Heather shares about the current divide in the church in part one of three episodes in this series. Cool. Congratulations! I’ll be checking out your podcast. I attend a small church, but we try hard not to have a division between the generations. Things like making the kids come up to the auditorium between Sunday school and Children’s Church. In this way, they hear the Bible reading passage for that morning’s message, they sing the congregational hymns, hear the church announcements and prayer requests, and they hear and/or participate with special music and/or offertories. During our Wednesday evening prayer services, we have had the teen youth group have their class during the adult message, and then the teens would come up to the auditorium, where they’re paired off with an adult to pray with. It’s a great way for the kids to get to know a new adult on a weekly basis, and they also get to be comfortable praying out loud and with someone older than them.
Awesome!
