Another restful thing in homeschooling is good organization. Planning ahead, and keeping track of attendance, grades, transcripts–especially in high school with an eye toward college. These are our materials for Katie’s sophomore year of high school.
I use Applecore (part of my SchoolhouseTeachers.com membership) for transcripts. I’ll discuss this in more detail sometime in the future. For attendance, and setting up a checklist, I simply created this in Katie’s favorite colors in Excel. It is fully customizable. If you’d like the file, let me know!
These are the books and websites we are using. She’ll get half a science credit for her participation in Zoofari this summer. The skills sheet is free, and we’ll be using that for Practical Life Skills. Math will be a combination of Learn Math Fast (recommended for kids with dyslexia–she’s doing the first workbook now through the end of June) and CTC Math which is video tutorials.
Next, I need to lay out lesson plans. We had done school solely online for several years, so I’m a little rusty. What are your favorite lesson planning tools? I’m strongly leaning toward my digital planner that comes with my SchoolhouseTeachers.com membership. Isn’t it gorgeous?
How’s your planning coming along? Let me know in the comments!
