Grateful for a Monday to meet again with you, around God’s Word. 📖🌻☕
This morning our reading is in Psalms 13-14–one, a plea for help, and the other a grieving over the wickedness of men. We also have Proverbs 23 (which includes my favorite parenting verse–26) is on our reading schedule this morning–“Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.” This theme is carried on in our memory passage, Proverbs 2:1-3. Our scripture writing portion is Romans 10:14-15, telling us how to have beautiful feet. 🙂
Grace for Today I have found is leading us down a path of denominationalism (for lack of a better word)–embracing a theological stance I don’t have confidence in sharing with regularity on our podcast, so I appreciate prayer as we consider a new direction moving forward. Thanks for understanding.
My Utmost for His Highest is an absolute gem this morning, speaking of “Our Careful Unbelief”–“Jesus summed up commonsense carefulness in the life of a disciple as unbelief. If we have received the Spirit of God, He will squeeze right through our lives, as if to ask, “Now where do I come into this relationship, this vacation you have planned, or these new books you want to read?” Still thinking about that word “abandon”.
We finish by looking at John 17:3 as our final verse on salvation that we’ll be using for our prayer time this week, and “Jehovah-Jesus” by William Cowper (Olney Hymns) for our Hymnary: As much, when in the manger laid, Almighty ruler of the sky; As when the six days’ works he made, Filled all the morning–stars with joy.
See you tomorrow, Lord willing!
