Happy Friday! I was able to get this recorded earlier than I thought, and I’m thankful! 📖🌻☕ So today we are reading the first half of Psalm 18 (verses 1-12), which leaves us in the middle of a bit of a “cliff hanger” until it will be resolved on Monday. We are reminded that God is our rock, fortress, deliverer, strength, shield, and our high tower of defense. We are writing 1 Tim. 2:8-11 for our “True Beauty” passage today, speaking of the beauty of works motivated by love and gratitude in our lives for what God has done. We practice Proverbs 2:1-3 for the final time, and will add verse 4 on Monday.
Days of Heaven on Earth uses Isaiah 9:6 to remind us that we need to acknowledge God’s sovereignty in our lives–“It is necessary to walk in holy obedience and let Him have the government on His shoulder.”
My Utmost for His Highest speaks of “The Life to Know Him”, addressing the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives–“We have to receive the revealed truth that He is here. The attitude of receiving and welcoming the Holy Spirit into our lives is to be the continual attitude of a believer.”
We finish with John 17:3 as our prayer scripture for this last day of the week, and I share two hymns, one by William Cowper and one by John Newton, which perfectly illustrate their relationship with one another and how the latter gave hope to the former. I’ll post the resources I mentioned on “The God of All Hope” separately in the group. Another thing I was made aware of is that I need to do a 2-Minute Rest on Hope as well as on Depression. If you think of other topics you do not see on the blog post pinned in the Featured Posts in this group, let me know.
See you Lord willing on Monday!
