Happy Up-N-Over Day! 📖🌻☕
Starting off a new month! So today our Proverbs reading assignment is chapter 1. We are continuing to read through Psalm 18 together on the podcast, looking at verses 31-42, and we talk a little about “hind’s feet”. Our scripture writing is from The Planning Woman website on the topic of Living with Integrity, and today we write I Chron 19:14-17 and we discuss a little about the planning of the Temple that David was involved with. And we continue memorizing Prov. 2:1-4.
Days of Heaven on Earth has us considering (as David did) what it means for God to fulfill his righteousness in us–“Have you got Him, dear friends? He will come and fulfil all right things in you if to-day you will open your heart.”
My Utmost for His Highest asks us “The Staggering Question”–“Is my own personal experience such a wonderful realization of God’s power and might that I can never have a sense of hopelessness for anyone else I see? Has any spiritual work been accomplished in me at all? The degree of panic activity in my life is equal to the degree of my lack of personal spiritual experience.” Wow.
We look at what some scholars have to say about the meaning of the “good work” in Phil. 1:6 and we consider the meaning of “tetelestai” in the idea of God’s completing His will in us. Good stuff!
We finish with Isaac Watts’ Hymn 114:
I sing my Savior’s wondrous death,
He conquered when he fell:
‘Tis finished!” said his dying breath,
And shook the gates of hell.
See you tomorrow, Lord willing!
