It’s FriYAY! 📖🌻☕
Today we have chapter 3 as our Proverbs reading, and we read together Psalm 19 which has many familiar verses regarding God’s creative genius and His precious word. Our passage for scripture writing is Psalm 7:6-8 speaking of David’s confidence and integrity before the Lord. And we have our little quiz today on Proverbs 2:1-4!
In Days of Heaven on Earth we read of God’s provision of the Holy Spirit and we are reminded that His presence is just as precious in our lives today: “I solemnly believe that there is not a thing that God expects of man but that God will give the man power to do. There is not a claim God makes on you or me but God will stand up to, and will give what He commands.”
Oswald Chambers in My Utmost for His Highest tells us about “The Secret of the Lord”–“What makes God so dear to us is not so much His big blessings to us, but the tiny things, because they show His amazing intimacy with us— He knows every detail of each of our individual lives.”
We close considering some words from Matthew Henry about the surety of God’s fulfilling His will in us based on the investment He made at the very outset of our spiritual journey-we were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.
Our hymn text today by Isaac Watts is inspired by Psalm 19, “God’s word most excellent; or, Sincerity and watchfulness. For a Lord’s-day morning.”
See you on Monday, ladies!
